Space Applications Services NV/SA is an independent Belgian company founded in 1987. Aerospace Applications North America is our Partner company in Houston, USA.
Our aim is to research and develop innovative systems, solutions and products and provide services to the aerospace and security markets and related industries. Our activities cover manned and unmanned spacecraft, launch/re-entry vehicles, control centres, robotics and a wide range of information systems.
The Company develops payloads, avionics, robotics technology and products, and provides complete mission operations control centre solutions to EN9100 standards.
We also provide engineering, science and training services, including astronaut training.
From our headquarters, we are in daily contact with the International Space Station (ISS) ensuring our Customers’ research is successful.
In the context of several research and development projects focused on autonomous systems and robotics, we are seeking a motivated intern to contribute to the development of online planning algorithms and techniques for both single-agent and multi-agent robotic platforms.
The successful intern will participate in the design, implementation, and testing of path planning and coordination strategies for mobile robots. This internship is hosted by the RSI division and may be organized to satisfy the requirements of a Master Thesis.
Location: Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Brussels Area)
Duration: 6 months
Start date: As of October 2026
Develop, evaluate, and optimize online planning algorithms for robotic agents operating in dynamic environments.
Investigate and implement coordination strategies for multi-agent systems, focusing on decentralized and centralized planning approaches.
Integrate and test planning components on both simulated and physical robotic platforms.
Support the deployment of software components and integration of sensors for real-time perception and planning.
Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
